-35C to -40C Blast Freezer

-35C to -40C blast freezer room for fast freezing

-35C to -40C blast freezer rooms are used when products must pass through the critical freezing stage quickly. Compared with a storage freezer, the blast freezer is sized around batch load, air velocity and required core-temperature pull-down time.

Fast freezing for product quality and production rhythm

Blast freezing is selected for seafood, meat, poultry, bakery products, prepared meals and other foods where slow freezing can damage texture, increase drip loss or slow the packing line. A correct design connects the room size, evaporator air throw, batch weight, product thickness and loading trolley arrangement into one cooling plan.

Freezing target

From surface freeze to core temperature

The quotation should define the target core temperature and time, not only the air temperature inside the room.

Air velocity

Cold air must reach every layer

Evaporator placement and trolley spacing are designed to prevent warm pockets inside dense batches.

Batch cycle

Match freezing time to production output

Daily capacity depends on how many batches the room completes per day, including loading and unloading time.

Low-temperature hardware

Components selected for heavy duty

Fans, coils, drain pan heaters, doors and controls must be suitable for harsh low-temperature operation.

How blast freezer sizing is reviewed

InputEngineering impact
Batch weightDefines the refrigeration load and required evaporator capacity for each freezing cycle.
Product thicknessThicker meat or fish blocks require longer freezing time than small packaged portions.
PackagingCartons, trays and plastic bags change airflow contact and freezing speed.
Cycle targetThe same room size can require different equipment when the target changes from 8 hours to 4 hours.

Information needed for an accurate offer

  • Product name, shape, average thickness and packaging method
  • Batch weight per loading and number of batches per day
  • Initial product temperature and required final core temperature
  • Trolley, rack, tray or carton arrangement inside the room
  • Ambient temperature, site power and preferred refrigerant system route
